Southwest Region Need a good installer in the Los Angeles region

AZ,CA,NM,NV,UT
Hello,
I went to Al & Eds and Pacific and have my doubts. I'm putting in JL Audio. I think they only care about bass and loud. I'm looking for accurate. Any installers you actually trust in the area?
Too bad I’m not closer or I’d help you get it right ..Hopefully you’ll find some one good

Don't know how close you are to Northridge/North Hills but try Street Sound Plus in North Hills/Northridge off of Roscoe Blvd by the 405. Haven't actually gone to do any work through them but when I was looking, I actually talked to them and just looking through their Yelp reviews, they seem like a legit shop (wish I went through them instead of going through another shop in Montebello).

Thanks - ideally there will be something much closer to home (Culver City, Century City, West LA) that people have used previously.
I know a guy from marina del rey that does great work. https://m.facebook.com/Bespokemobileaudio/#!/Bespokemobileaudio/

His name is Scott and he does phenomenal SQ oriented installs. Authorized dealer for zapco, tru tech, audible physics, hybrid, audison, and so on. I did talk to him the other day actually and he said he will be super busy with preparing for Mecca SQ competition on March 19 but after that he should be free.

Sounds legit. @boe_d should definitely check this place out. All those brands are Several leagues above JL audio in terms of performance and quality, upper echelon stuff and they cost the same as JL. Same gear reus uses.

It’s not an actual store front like a typical car audio shop. Scott does this as a hobby or side business because he’s passionate about it. He uses his home as his business address. He already has a full time job so it’s not like you can just walk in and get shiet done anytime. @boe_d; needs to setup an appointment beforehand and discuss the details first. He’s a mobile installer if need be but it’s best if the vehicle can be dropped off at his place. It’s a gated complex with a huge guest parking lot, which is where he does the installs. I’m planning to have my entire scion tc build done by him when I finish piecing everything together and save up enough cash for it. He really takes his time to do it right and knows his stuff. He’s constantly swapping new raw drivers in his demo ride and trying new upcoming amps just for testing so he knows his products very well.

I would not trust Al &Ed’s to touch my car even if you paid me. One time when I was in high school I walked in there and the guy was screwing in subs into an enclosure and accidently pokes a hole right thru the sub. I was terrified and never been there since lol.

Btw what’s wrong with white horse? I haven’t heard the stories.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've sent an email to bespoke and beach. Beach said they carry what I want but wasn't sure if amping would be an option given that I want to keep ANC. I haven't heard back from bespoke yet.

Call Scott directly thru the number on his facebook. You need to get a digital signal processor so you can bypass your factory settings. Don’t use factory amp.

It may not be an option i’m not sure but if that’s true, the benefits of upgrading your entire sound system top to bottom with REAL amp power will overshadow keeping your Honda ANC. If it were me I would disable it and insulate the car with MLV which will act as a noise blocker. It will make road noise much quieter and your car will sound like a full live concert once everything is tuned right with the amps and the tuning, you’re not gonna even think about outside noise at that point.

Hahaha, thanks for your sympathy. Luckily it wasn't a sub install. But still, the installer was a hack.

Don't know about other stories, but as for me, I brought my wife's vehicle in to get her whole stock system upgraded from radio to new speakers and an amp. After finishing the install, my wife and I noticed that the installer did a hack job installing things in my wife's vehicle. Broken or missing clips and what not. I contacted one of the owners and he promised he would replace it for me but never did. Mind you, it won't hurt my pocket to replace the broken or missing clips but it was just the principle of it all. Also, after removing the door panels to my wife's vehicle to install some sound deadening material, I noticed that they reused the original factory speaker mounts and that it wasn't fully attached correctly. I was told by one of the owners, not Mauco btw, that they will make new speaker mounts for my vehicle but never did. Also, when the rear camera went out of my wife's vehicle, I took it back to Whitehorse Customz to check out what was the problem since they installed the camera, they advised me that I needed a new camera and warranty was not covered even though I had it installed for about 5 months. Needless to say, I went to another car audio shop and they actually did actual testing and they found that the reason my camera went out was due to the wiring getting frayed. Apparently the installer did a half a*s job installing the system and the wiring kept rubbing inside the floor panel which in turn frayed the covering.

This is just from my experience w/ Whitehorse Customz. The guy that builds the boxes is cool, but as far as his business partner, he's the reason I wouldn't go to that shop. They claim that they do full custom to basic installs, but if it's basic, they really don't give a **** about you. That's just my honest opinion on the shop.
