Hi.  I'm looking for some advice on a sub box build.  I plan to build a sealed box to fit in the hatch area of an 80 Corvette with 4 Alpine S-W10D4 DVC subs.  The enclosure will be about 35" wide, 13"tall, 13" deep.  Power will come from 1000W monoblock @ 2ohms.  Airspace does not seem to be an issue because each woofer only requires .4 cubic feet.  Each sub will have it's own sealed airspace.

The question is whether or not it's a problem to have subs facing in different directions in the same enclosure.  Obviously, the box will not be wide enough to line all 4 up side by side, so my options (as I see them), are:

1.  Two facing forward, two facing upward

2.  Two forward, two facing each wheel well (on the sides of the box)

3.  Two forward, two facing backwards

4.  All 4 side by side, in a "V" configuration (2 Vs actually)

Of these choices, which seems like the best idea? Will there be phase issues or cancellation, or any other problems inherent to these designs?  My thinking is that because sub frequencies are omni-directional, and because the cabin is so small anyway, the direction of the subs won't matter much.  But that's just a guess.

Thanks for any insight.

OK guys I'm seeing a trend.  I can easily sell the subs and recoup most of my money.  Given the small cabin I have to work with, what's the best way to achieve obnoxiously loud bass levels?  I haven't been a "basshead" since high school but this system has to play loud because I have full headers and side pipes.    And no a/c, so windows down most of the time.

I don't think I have enough space for a ported enclosure with 2 10s.

It's called the K.I.S.S. preciniple ("Keep it simple, stupid!")... Takes the guesswork out of parallel/series wiring.
