    2 different alpine subs...

As long as you don't overpower them, there is no danger of harming your gear, once you get a new sub so they are both the same, you will likely notice a change in the sound, could be for the better or worse depending on the acoustics of your car.

Bass Louder and softer sometimes... Bass subwoofer problem - Bass loss

Do you have large temperature differences where you live? I live in Norway, and in winter time when it is -10 Celsius out side. The low frequency sound signature is different until the subwoofers warms up and the suspension softens. I can hear the same in summer time if it is very hot, the bass...

What frequency should i cutoff for my subwoofer

Trust your ears. If your soundsystem rolls off early without a sub, then cutting high Can be beneficial. Most cut around 80hz, but I have had good experience with as high as 150hz on some occasions. The higher you cut, the more power your subs will drain per mm cone excusion, so you might get...

    2 10s and single 12 together

As long as the subs are close to each other and the signal to is not Inverted on any subs, cancellation is not a big issue with sealed enclosures. With ported enclosures tuned to different frequencies, you will get problems even if the subs get in phase signal and are close to each other.

    2 10s and single 12 together

I see no reason to split the signal and let the 10s play high and 12 play low if they are all intended for bass/sub use. You will get more output by letting them play together as you get more surface area for both high and low frequencies. Mixing different drivers is not ideal, but if they are...

    Bandpass port question

Are there any other places it can be included? Just qurious

    Bandpass port question

It can also be reduced by flared ports, smooth surfaces, no corners or bends, proper distance from walls to port or atleast an air flow guiding wall, distance the ports tuning futher away if they cancel each others output to some degree. Low cut at tuning in the lower chamber also help since...

    Bandpass port question

Looks nice man. Im working on a small 6.5’’ bandpass now, the tuning is low 30s and low 60s somewhere. Im currently trying to reduce port noise so I can increase port velocity. Due to its small size, I can only fit 2x 2’’ ports per chamber, which is why im qurious if the ports cancel each other...

    Bandpass port question

A port are tuned to a given frequency however, the port does provide output above an below tuning with dismising returns. If chamber 1 port is tuned to 40 hz and chamber 2 port is tuned to 65 hz, will the 40hz port’s output at 65hz cancel out the 65hz tuned port at 65hz? If so, what about at 52...

How does a 4th order bandpass work?

Mr858 nailed it, sub compatibility + tuning + install. Match fs to tuning or close with a ratio to match environmental gains and its a winner. Allow for power... That echo chamber needs a bit of area but understand the mechanics and how loading affects output. Compatibility, tuning, ratio and...

How does a 4th order bandpass work?

dual 15 woofers have no problem from 1000hz down to 50hz, a 2” compression driver deals with 1000hz +. In PA, space is not a concern, we simply calculate how many boxes we need to achieve the spl we aim for. Convinient design for transportation and high efficiency is the main priority

How does a 4th order bandpass work?

With dual 15” cabinets as top speakers, content down to 50hz can be covered. A frequency response down to 35hz is ussaly enough, but flat down to 30 hz tend to be standard for live events with bass/sub oriented music genres.

How does a 4th order bandpass work?

Good points, I agree. I might have been a bit unclear in my post tho, my bad… Im not a car audio enthusiast, I actually build pro audio subwoofers for PA use. They can be placed in all kinds of environments, so how a 4th order works excluding the environment is what I want to understand...

How does a 4th order bandpass work?

Its not about accepting the basics, its about understanding them in detail, to mentally visualize all the variables and how they influence each other. If you dont have interest in understanding the underlying workings or you have nothing to add, then this tread is probably not for you.
