Sub size has nothing to do with sound quality. There are 18's that have a better quick response than 8's. Your bass quality doesn't diminish or get sloppier as the size of subs increase. It's a myth that floats around.

You are confusing dc with Dd.

Almost double the cone area and twice the watts is going to be significantly louder.

10k is at 16 or 18 volts. These amps really like high voltage.

It's not the head units fault. It's the fact that you are trying to run 10 speakers with a head unit designed to run 4. No head unit is going to fix that issue.

If you can find a Wrx wagon that's not completely trashed or has over 200k on it for 3-4 grand I'd be amazed. We just sold my wife's 2002 Wrx to get her a legacy limited and we got $5100 for it , it had slight fender well rust , a weakening turbo , needed the front bumper resprayed and was an auto.

Honda crv's can be had for 3-4 grand and don't have the head gasket issues older outbacks have. Easier and cheaper to get alts also for a common b series Honda motor. All that said the outback is a cooler vehicle though.
