Hey everybody, I'm trying to decide which to get. How do the JL 12W3v2 and Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 compare for spl/sq in sealed and ported applications if they would get about 400w rms? Thanks. 407

Has anyone had experience with similar setups? What kind of spl can one 12w3v2 put out if ported, and is it still fairly clean? I know that, again there are a ton more variables, but an approximate guess would be enough for me. 407

Yes, that makes sense, there's one less driver pushing air, but there's also a difference in the maximum excursion. the 12w0's have 8.6mm for their xmax, while the 12w3v2-D2 is 13mm with about twice the power handling. I'm not sure how to relate that to spl, but hopefully somebody does. Anybody...

I guess it would all depend on the delay inside the box if you would get a peak or not, the little delay must have put them in phase at that midbass frequency for you. I just know that with my dual 12" JL's that one speaker connection came undone and I lost about 90% of the bass, but both subs...

I'm sure this probably isn't it, but if the subs are in a common airspace and one stops working for whatever reason, it'll still look like both subs are working but the compression of one will be nearly cancelled out by the rarefaction of the other and you'll get very little overall pressure...
