    Think I messed up...repost

Posted this in the wrong section the first time. Long story short, enclosure is .85 cu ft.  Subs say 1 cu foot minimum and 1.25 for optimal.  they are NVX NSW122v2 12".  I cant seem to find a spec for how much air they displace. I know the effects of running subs in smaller enclosure but im...

    Think I messed up...

Okay so I bought a prefab box that is sealed and has .85 cu ft of airspace.  Due to some conflicting information I was reading I bought 2 NVX NSW122v2 subs.  I first read they needed 1 cu ft but now the manual is saying 1.25 cu ft.  I also cant find a spec for how much air they displace. Anyway...

    Subwoofer RMS question

Yeah i just never know what to believe on those reviews lol. I know one guys said he was getting like 68 watts continuous @ 2 ohms. But the manufacturer says it should be 150w rms @2 ohms. all the numbers make my eyes cross.

    Subwoofer RMS question

this is the description of the amp. Do you guys think its even really putting out 500W that's the CEA compliant rating. They seem to think it puts out 1000w lol. The RXH-F5 is a 5 channel high power amplifier with 3,200 Watts peak output, 1600 Watts RMS output (4 x 150 + 1 x 1000 @ 2 Ohms)...

    Subwoofer RMS question

I'm probably going to end up hating it and putting the fosgates back in....or building a box for the 8's lol but we'll see how it goes I guess. If I hate it I'll try to return it. I wish the stock enclosure was a ten. I have an old JL 10 also that I don't think is particularly deep. hooray...

    Subwoofer RMS question

I would do that but my goal is to not have a sub box in the back. I just removed a box with 2 RF P3 10's. saving space or I wouldn't be in this conundrum

    Subwoofer RMS question

I don't have any experience setting gains with a higher rated amp because typically when I buy a "system" its usually all at once and I match all the power ratings before hand. As far as the o scope goes I've only used it a handful of times and its just a hand held one from amazon. It only...

    Subwoofer RMS question

What sux is that I have 4 powerbass es8dv.2 8's but they require a 0.5 foot apiece. and the speaker is physically too big to even put in that box. they're 250w rms.

    Subwoofer RMS question

Yeah I'd say the factory eclosre is less than 0.5 CU. feet. specs on the sub says it will work in a 0.35 cu. foot box with heavy poly. lol

    Subwoofer RMS question

I know I know.....It's kind of a family car so I have to load a lot of stuff in it pretty frequently, tired of taking the sub box in and out....

    Subwoofer RMS question

Okay I'll probably wire to 8ohm first and run it like that at least until it's broken in and then I can try from there. I'm moving the amp I have to another vehicle eventually so I'll play around with it a little and then get a better suited amp later that better fits the power rating. its a 5...

    Subwoofer RMS question

Also when I'm setting gain with the o-scope should I raise it all the way until clipping or just keep it turned way down?

    Subwoofer RMS question

Okay thanks. I just wasn't sure if the extra power might cause any problems with the voice coils or anything like that. going to be interesting going to that sub from 2 p3's.......
