would running the amps in series affect the impedence of the sub?

what i mean with the sub is can your hook up more than 1 amp on a single voice coil? PS: Ive seen a dual voice coil sub with 4 amps hooked up to it in comps

2 questions Can you hook more than 1 amp up to a sub? Can you bridge the front right channel and rear right channel on an amp or do they both have to be either front or back in order to bridge?
