    6x9 Version of Pioneer C720PRS

Yea, that was another thought. Still an option. But I'm just looking to find the model name of the 6x9s so I can explore that option as well.

    6x9 Version of Pioneer C720PRS

I have, and it's not quite the same (for my taste). That's how I arrived at the notion of buying a matching pair

    6x9 Version of Pioneer C720PRS

I'm confused - I currently have stock 6x9s in back. How would replacing them with a front-matching Pioneer set mess it up? I do appreciate a little rear-fill. I'm sorry if I didn't explain that very well.

    6x9 Version of Pioneer C720PRS

I have some Pioneer 720PRS comps up front and I love them. Now it's time to upgrade the rear deck. Can anybody tell me if there is a 6x9 version of these? Also, are (rather were) they available in 2-way or 3-way instead of components? I'm looking to stay in the timber-matched neighborhood.

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input! I wasn't aware that an amp could have so much affect on SQ. I'll definitely be shopping for a better amp now. $300 a fair amount to budget for a decent 4ch amp?

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

I have boosted the midbass frequencies on my parametric eq and they still seem lacking the midbass I was expecting. The inherently poor acoustical design of my doors did cross my mind. I tried to negate that with sealing/deadening though. When you say they need "a lot of power" how exactly does...

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

Well, I just finished the install - ran new wire, fully sealed/deadened doors and made sure the polarity was matched. I'm still not seeing much midbass from these drivers - at 50w they get plenty loud without distortion, but the midbass is just very lacking. Not sure where to go from here..

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

He got angrier :S. I certainly have experience in this area, though I must also inform you the wide spread claims of my being an all knowing wizard are greatly exaggerated. Treating the doors would certainly improve midbass response, which should be said has to exist even before treatment, but...

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

Such an angry fella [emoji33] . I appreciate your input, but CCF and MLV are far from necessary for speakers to display a acceptable frequency response. Also, the Alpine is a decent head unit - it should have no problem delivering what I'm asking of it. Like I said in my original post, this...

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

I was afraid of that. Though in tests it seems to perform well on spec. I also have an XS D3400 powering things and it stays around 13v. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using Tapatalk

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

Thanks for the quick reply Jeff, you're always a great help. I'm using an Alpine HD149BT head unit with RCA preouts going to the clarion amp. The doors are completely enclosed except for one part by the window motor where there is movement (and where clips/retainers are placed). I'm using...

Poor SQ/Midbass from new Pioneer C720PRS Components

I recently purchased a new set of Pioneer C720PRS components and they look great! Unfortunately, I installed one mid/tweeter in my Buick Lucerne driver's side and it sounds... Less than great. I installed it using the factory wiring (running on a small Clarion XC1410 amp, 50wx4) just to get a...

    Crossover on HU Sufficient?

I'm getting ready to install my first "big boy" system, expanding on my sub. I have an Alpine HD149BT with a "crossover" in it, and I'm wondering how to employ this in conjunction (or not) with the passive crossovers coming with my new Pioneer 720PRS components. Any suggestions?

    WTB: Decent 6.5" Component Pair

Dang, looks like those Pioneers got snatched. I'm not too familiar with CDT, though I've heard a bit about them around here. Could you tell more more about the CDTs in comparison to the Hertz, HAT and those Pioneers? Thanks for all the help guys Actually the fella just PMed me and...

    WTB: Decent 6.5" Component Pair

Awesome, thanks for the info! How do you think they would do on 50-75w? Sent from my SM-N910R4 using Tapatalk
