    Component speakers recommendation for newbie

Anything in the price range of those C2's, really... Hertz or Morel would probably be the better choices, but it's hard to make recommendations since every speaker gives a subjective experience to each listener. Best bet would be to hit up every car audio store in your locale (if you have any)...

    Component speakers recommendation for newbie

The JL's would be decent, albeit pricey for what you get, in my opinion. Also check out Rockford, Hertz, Kicker, Focal, and Morel.

    Front Speaker Help. no amp

If you're still looking, just get front comps and an amp. You should have no problem scoring both in your budget range that you were planning to spend on front and rear speakers together. You have a Del Sol, so there's little (or, more importantly, no) point in having any rear fill with such a...

    Help in choosing some components

They'll handle 2x150W RMS no problem, as long as the power is clean. To me, the mids really come alive at the 2x150W mark, as opposed to their rated 2x50W RMS.

What was your worst car audio mistake ...

My first car back in '91 was a '79 Chrysler Newport with just an AM/FM radio and front dash speakers from the factory. I had one of those cheap-ass cassette decks installed (i.e.- Spark-O-Matic) along with a pair of equally chintzy surface mount speakers (the kind in the ported plastic housings...
