Sounds like a shorted or faulty rectifier. I imagine they would have to been replaced also and the power stage caps.( The big ones). As well as the gate resistors. Non of the capacitors are bulged or popped?

I am also new at repairing amps so if i goof please go easy. But normally if caps pop at the power supply stage the current can still flow on to the next components. A simple check of the reverse protection diodes, rectifiers, and power stage mosfets will tell you if the amp is worth fixing...

I have 8 old school rockford amps that were in the process of being repaired. They can be repaired or used for parts. The amps are; T800.1, 1000 1bd, two Punch 45s( 1 without casing) Punch 150hd, p325.2, p2002, 600.a4,600.a2.

I have a TMA 500.1 and when i got the amp the fuses and the power stage mosfets(irfz44n) were blown. I removed the blown fets and checked for shorts and found none. Then checked the gate resistors and they were good. Replaced all the power stage fets and checked again for shorts. No shorts...

The amp is connected with 4 gauge wire for positive from term block that is fed by 8 ft of 2 gauge. Ground is 2 gauge roughly 15 inches long. When car is off the amp does good untill you increase bass boost or gain them it cuts out like loss off amperage. When you crank the car the amp relay...
