Two SVC 4ohm subwoofers wired in parallel give a load of 3ohms?

You are right. Can't believe I forgot about that. Gets me about 1.7ohm now which seems correct and prob is a 2ohm load. Thanks!

Two SVC 4ohm subwoofers wired in parallel give a load of 3ohms?

I have 2 SVC 4ohm subwoofers wired in parallel and they show up as a 3ohm load on my multimeter. I'm aiming for a 2ohm load. I have 1 sub hooked up normally and then plugged in my 2nd sub on the terminals of the 1st sub. What could be the cause of this?

My two subs are a few millimeters short of fitting in my trunk

I'm not sure what you mean by rubber gasket?

My two subs are a few millimeters short of fitting in my trunk

Uhm it's 2 12 inch subs powered by 1 amp. But yes, side by side they are too wide.

My two subs are a few millimeters short of fitting in my trunk

I have two of these subs: https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/r1-1x12/ I want to fit them side by side facing the back of the car but I need like 1-3mm extra space. The plastic things on the picture is what makes it not fit. What's the best option here? Do I cut 1-3mm away from one of...

Bass sounds muddy in my car

Alright thanks for the help guys. I feel so scammed as they sold me this in a set. Rockford sells this sub and amp together and they're not even a right fit. Unbelievable.

Bass sounds muddy in my car

I will install those tomorrow. Turns out I have a R300X4 amp actually. This one has a bit more power https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/r300x4/ 150 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm Bridged Would it still sound decent with a 4 channel amp like this or should I just go for a better amp? I just want...

Bass sounds muddy in my car

So I should upgrade my amp to a 2 channel more powerful one? And for the sub level, my speakers are also at 0 and they are pretty loud. I've read setup guides for these pioneers and from what I remember they recommend to leave it at 0. That was my first setup ever with the first sub and amp. I...

Bass sounds muddy in my car

Oh I do have 1 sub hooked up. I just thought the amp can provide 250watt through bridged mode. These are the ratings provided on the site: 40 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohms 60 Watts x 4 @ 2-Ohms 125 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohms Bridged That would **** if it only provides 125watt to my sub... Think I'm going to...

    I'll try that. Appreciate it man. Also it's 125 x 2 bridged at 4ohms.

Bass sounds muddy in my car

My cousin has the same subwoofer with the 2 channel version of my amplifier and it sounds way better. I know it's not a very powerful system but it should sound better.

Bass sounds muddy in my car

So I should put my subwoofer setting at 10 (max) on my head unit? I thought this was bad practice as the head unit will amplify the sound then and may cause distortion. My amp is this one: https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/r250x4/ It's rated at 250watt rms and my subwoofer is...

Bass sounds muddy in my car

Alright I'll change the ground and see if it changes anything. I think the amp does 250watts bridged? I know it's not the best equipment but believe me it should do more than this. Just the fact that my old subwoofer plays much better in my friends car means something is wrong with my setup.

Bass sounds muddy in my car

The subwoofer is 200watt RMS. Specs can be seen here: https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/r1-1x10/ . Amp is bridged and rated for 125 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohms Bridged. My buddy his amplifier is a JVC KS-AX202. Note that I used his subwoofer and amplifier previously in my car and it didn't...

Bass sounds muddy in my car

I've set it at 3 atm. But I also tried it with 8 and a lower gain setting. Same thing happens.
