why alpine? why not eclipse, if you are looking to spend that kind of money i would just as soon get the eclipse, which is a better SQ unit, imo alpine has been getting more mass produced and component quality has gone down, they are still exelent units for sure, but not as good as they used to be

they dont run too hot, and for a sub amp they sound fine, the subs will make a biggetr SQ difference than the amp, in this case at least

most likley the plug on the back of your hu is for either a changer, and/or the compatable dsp/eq, as for the amp, it is most likley a connector for a remote bass boos adjustment, but the manufacturerers websites would have the info

i have recently put in an eclipse 5303r, and all is well, but i was wondering what something is, it is a little metal box, maybe 1.5 inches square, attached to the back of the headunit by a foot of cable, the instructions didnt say what it is, of anything, but it does not have any connectors on...

i think 12g or 10g would be fine, for the amount of power you are using

would it be possible to wire the secondary battery the same way you would wire a cap. ? like with the batcap's

hmmm, i see, i used to have a pair of 10w6's and i really did notice a dramatic difference in sq, but also a bg jump in spl, which is what i was after, so i though, after a little while i realised the w6's used far less power (~600w vs 1200w) and sounded so much better, i think i will try o sell...

what do people have against audiobahn, i have a pair of 12's, and a set of components up front, and they sound fine, nothing magical, i was just wondering what people have against them

hmm, yeah i have a catalog that has some battery isolators, but i dont know enough about them to get any use, i will continue to look around, and hopefully i can find something that will get me going again, thanks for all the idea/info so far

i had a pair of 10w6's that i ran @ 3ohm into a punch800 and it was fine, i never had any stability probs. i would also recoment the jl over the rf subs, i think they are better personaly

i know crutch field has an adpter for that oval that will allow you to use a single din sized headunit, and just moves the ac controls a bit, other than that i cant offer much
