Questions about rear deck subwoofer install

Hmm. Guess I didnt consider that. What would the repercussion be of mounting it on thinner metal? I mean Im sure its strong enough to hold the weight of a single 12" (Not a competition monster, just a mainstream sub) as from the pictures I've seen the steel is pretty ribbed back there, lots...

Questions about rear deck subwoofer install

Hey all. I was just thinking about maybe trying to install a single 12" in the back of my 2002 grand prix. I have the tools to cut a new hole for it, ideally keeping my 6x9's in there as well. I've never attempted it before and am not finding a whole lot of information on the internet, though...

Looking to port my box (I think)

That being said, do you think I should put two more ports @ 5.56 on the right side of the baffle also? I still have enough PVC to make the ports.

Looking to port my box (I think)

Just wanted to update I did the porting today. I ended up having to go with two 3" ports rather than the 6", because there would have been absolutly no way to put the 6" on the baffle and I couldnt find any 6" pvc that wasnt that cellulose core crap locally. Did em at 5.56" long which is what...

Looking to port my box (I think)

That's a ****** program there. You're right, it does look like I'm right on the cusp of too small. I'll go with the 6" @ 14" long. I still have the issue of where to put the port. Tips? And thanks for the info Jeff, you're a huge help!

Looking to port my box (I think)

Yeah those are my net measurements minus width of material. H15.5" W29.5" D16" with like ~5/8th inch board. (My measuring tape ***** at small measurements) I used http://www.bcae1.com/spboxnew2.htm and recalculated as I thought it was half inch board, so I show 3.436 Ft³. Just doing the math...

Looking to port my box (I think)

Evening all! I have a Rockford P2D4-15 sub (the older 250w rms ones) in a sealed 3.5 cu ft box. When I built the box I (obviously) got a bit zealous with the size, and its about 2 cu/ft too big to run sealed. Manufacturer specs are 1.58 sealed and 2.66 ported so I'm not sure if I could even...

Tips on setting my system up?

The reason it's not confusing to you but somewhat confusing to me is because you've learned these things, I'm still new to them. No reason to be condescending.

Tips on setting my system up?

Hey NoLoud, thanks for the reply here. So I would want 500 watts from my amp, or 31.62 volts? I read somewhere that whether it's DVC or SVC the rated wattage of the speaker doesnt change, which is why I'm confused. Could you provide some documentation that explicitly explains the difference...

Tips on setting my system up?

The amp is mono, and I have a 4ohm DVC sub, I couldnt get that to 4 ohm at the amplifier could I? What I'm trying to figure out is if the 250w rms of my sub is total or per coil.

Tips on setting my system up?

Hey all! I recently snagged up a audiobahn a8000V (Audiobahn A8000V Mono subwoofer amplifier 400 watts RMS x 1 at Crutchfield.com) to go with my Rockford P2D415 (http://wwv.crutchfield.com/p_575P2D415/Rockford-Fosgate-P2D415.html). Im slightly confused at the DVC aspect here with a mono block...

    General questions about my set-up

You think so? Even though the amp is smaller than the sub? It's sounded pretty clean to me, but I guess I dont know exactly what im looking for. I know what a standard speaker sounds like when it clips and distorts and I dont think I heard it at all from the sub. But yeah again Im new to all...

    Bass track thread!

Not sure if this has made the list yet but Tech N9ne-Delusional from All 6's and 7's album has some pretty long rumbling lows in it. I use it as my standard for testing personally.
