I’m building a sealed box. Going for small and shallow

Looking to build a box I know the requirements for the sub I want.  My question is how much space should I allow for behind the woofer. I want to make the box as shallow as possible. Is there a rule of thumb like an inch or two behind the magnet.

I didn’t want to give up a lot of space. I wanted to be able to move my box so I can use my truck for whatever I need to put in it. I saw a lot of 12s say 1 cubic foot. Should a idq12 need more space? I was even thinking a idqs12 if I can get my hands on one.
