Subwoofer Box Dilemma - port or no port.

The 3x5 is just for one. My box has two separate chambers, I made a port for each side.

Subwoofer Box Dilemma - port or no port.

Update for anyone interested. Yall were correct with the tuning. Made one port to the recommended size, 3x5, and it had no low end at all. Didn't really test it but prolly anything below mid 40hz was very quiet and into the 30's was just not there. So I remade the port with a 2x11.5 pipe which...

Subwoofer Box Dilemma - port or no port.

That is the recommended size from Pioneer. I would assume they should have some kind of logic behind those numbers but, I see what you're saying. I'm also not too knowledgeable on what the difference would be in having a box tuned at 50hz vs 36hz.

Subwoofer Box Dilemma - port or no port.

Yea that makes sense. I actually mistyped the recommended volume, it's .79 not .75. So I think I'm gonna try out the recommended port size of 3x5.875 with some PVC pipe. So after subtracting the sub displacement, .04cuft, and the port displacement, .03, volume of port inside the box since part...

Subwoofer Box Dilemma - port or no port.

This is going under the rear seat in an F150 so I'm already as big as I can get with the .86cuft per chamber as it is.

Subwoofer Box Dilemma - port or no port.

Ok, so after checking the specs again they actually recommend a port that's 3" in diameter and 5 7/8" long. Guess I could learn to read lol. So would I be best using that size port or should I do any adjustment since this box is slightly bigger than recommended? I just don't understand box...

Subwoofer Box Dilemma - port or no port.

So I currently have some shallow mount 12in pioneer subs that according to their specs, have a recommended enclosure size of .76cf for a sealed or ported box. Which is odd as I've never seen a sub with recommended volumes being the same for ported and sealed. So if that is true, and I can...

    Amp turn off pop

Well, I found a way to "fix" the popping. Ran a separate remote turn on from an acc fuse to turn on only the amps. Still using the LC7i GTO to turn on the LC7i and the DSP. So now the amps only turn on once a turn on ignition. Where before they would turn on when the car unlocked/door was opened...

    Amp turn off pop

So I've got some pop when my amps turn off, I've done some googling but still unsure what my fix may be. So I'm getting signal from my factory stereo that goes into my LC7i, from there I've got RCA's into my Dayton DSP, then RCA from there to amps. If I unplug RCA from amp I get no turn off...

6 speakers on 4 channel amp?

Yea this will be going in a 4 door f150, I do have subs, and mostly listen to rap/pop/country so going only front for now may be the move.

6 speakers on 4 channel amp?

Well, the main reason for all this is I found a D-4.800 for around $400, so I was originally planning on the normal passive 4 channel setup until I started reading about active since this has a DSP and thinking I might could get some active setup with this. I see a lot of people talk about not...

6 speakers on 4 channel amp?

Ok so it seems doable. Yea I haven't decided on the speakers yet but most of what I'm looking at for my price range are 4ohm and around 60w rms. So wired together would get me 2ohm on each channel which the audiocontrol is rated for 200x4 at 2 ohm. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to run...

6 speakers on 4 channel amp?

This may be dumb question but, haven't found a similar one answered. I'm looking at getting a AudioControl D-4.800. I was curious if it would be possible to run my left front and rear mids on one channel, the right front and rear mids on another channel, and then tweeters on the other two...
