RMS power for a 600W RMS JL 10w6v2

Hey guys, I am getting a 10w6v2 for a great price from a friend, and am going to buy an amp to power it. It has 600W RMS/1200W peak handling. From reading the forums and other sources, I want to get an amp where i don't have to worry about clipping too much, and don't have to max the gain to...

If i were to offer you one of these subs, which would you take, details in post

I am looking for a 10" sub for a sealed box of about .8 cu ft. I am interested in about a 70/30 sq/spl mix for less than $250 new. I have browsed the forums extensively, and learned a lot about many brands that i have never heard of. I made a large list, and narrowed it down based on...

10" sub for <$200, details in post

yeah, i understand, but i never want to worry about blowing the sub. I am only talking about slightly underpowering it, like a PA400.1 at 1 ohm putting 400W RMS to a 500W RMS sub like the jl w3. How much higher can i go without having to worry about blowing it? 1. about 0.7 cu ft. air volume...

choice between a few sub-$115 amps to power a nice 10

actually, the amp was an spl z2x-820 that the installer wired wrong. he had it bridged (supposed to be 4 ohms) into ONLY ONE ******* VOICE COIL of the DVC 2 ohm speaker. I suspect this had something to do with one of the channels burning out and one of the voice coils on the speaker going bad...

10" sub for <$200, details in post

I am in the market for a new 10" sub to put into my custom smallish sealed box. I have about $300 to spend, but thought that I would find a great sub first(~$200), then match it to a cheaper (~$100) CEA 06 amp amp that would slightly underpower the sub at 2 or 1 ohm (i don't want to have to...

choice between a few sub-$115 amps to power a nice 10

thanks for the help, all of you. The guy at the shop told me that a voice coil was bad on my sub and a channel was bad on my amp, so I will be focusing on a new search for amp+sub. I will do a little research, then post if I need any more assistance.

choice between a few sub-$115 amps to power a nice 10

thanks for the feedback, it is really helpful. I have 3 more quick questions 1. is audiopipe similar quality to soundstream, sony, and kenwood, as I have found a soundtream trx2.440 for $80 (440@4ohms), a kenwood KAC-7205 for 120 (500@4ohms), and a soundstream stl2.560 and a sony xm gtr-2202...

choice between a few sub-$115 amps to power a nice 10

Hello everyone! I am new to the forums, but there seems to be a lot of good info here. I need to power a Powerbass ES 10DS in a custom built, smallish sealed box its a 2 ohm DVC, and i have it wired in series, so 4 ohm impedance, but could wire it parallel for 1 ohm if necessary, 500W...
