What type of connections does this unit have? Is the amp meant to go on the outside or the inside?

Didn't find triangular box design sotware. But I do have a few questions about the information that BassBox Pro 6 doesn't provide. What should the relative positions of the speaker and the port be on the front baffle? Speaker in the middle and port halfway between the speaker and the bottom...

A new challenge - software that will design a box that is triangular!

Hopefully there's something with a narrower focus. I want something that can design a vented enclosure with a square port and provides a recommended thickness for the polyfill. Hopefully something that costs less than $500.

I already knew all of that from inspecting Apline's web site. I don't want to use an iPod.

Does it recognize tags on wav files? I want the artist/album/track info as well as a mini image of the album cover to show up on my screen. Looking at the Alpine manual again it doesn't appear that they support wav files. It's a shame because those digital media receivers have the best displays.

This is clearly in the section on using a USB connection. As I suspected, if you are using a dock connector, this limitation does not apply. It is an unfortunate limitation nonetheless. However, I don't think there are many portable music players that support Apple lossless (Toshiba? Sony?)...

I was under the impression that if you use the Ipod dock connector to interface with the head unit that you are using the Ipod itself to play the files. Am I wrong? Ipod is certainly not the best portable player, however, and I was hoping that I could use a USB cable with one of the premium...

AAC is not necessarily lossless.

The iPod dock connector provides an analog audio connection to the head unit, doesn't it? The only reason that I have any doubt is that Pin 12 on the dock connector is Tx serial data. I could see that used as an S/PDIF output with certain devices.
