Hi guys, I have an Audi A3 1.6 2004 car. A while ago my friend helped fit some front Focal speakers and crossovers. He used to fit them at Halfords so did a fairly good job even though we had to completely pack out the space behind the head unit. My speakers were working fine for around a year until recently when I took my car to a garage to get the master clutch cylinder fixed (and a few other things). The mechanics worked under the bonnet and also removed the unit beneath my steering wheel. Once complete I left thinking my car was all fine but a few days later realised that the front fog lights weren't working and also that my front speakers and crossovers had stopped working (on both sides). My back speakers (the ones that came with the car) were working fine so I hadn't realised the front had gone as the music was still playing ok. I'm not the greatest person when it comes to fixing cars etc but I thought the most logical thing was that the mechanic would have pulled a wire off or caused some damage underneath the steering wheel (as some wires come out of the headunit to the speakers/crossovers). So I decided to remove this unit aswell as the stereo unit pulling all the wires out to see if anything looked wrong. From what I could see there was no damage, no broken wires and all looked fine (just to note I didn't remove the door panel to actually look at the speaker as I was hoping to see visual damage elsewhere). I have since spoken to the guy who originally fitted the speakers and he said that if there was damage to some wires under the steering wheel it should have only affected the front right... so it is likely more than this. Maybe I didn't look hard enough behind the stereo unit- I have got a load of photos of what I can see if this forum allows URL's? Be good to know if anyone has any advice and if you think the fog lights & speakers are related somehow. Happy to go to a garage and get it looked at but wanted to post it here first. Thanks Jake
