[QUOTE="ERA_Evil, post: 8825164, member: 687656"] OK, so I need help deciding on the amp connection for the car 2003 525i non-DSP, business, tape-deck in-dash, 6-cd changer next to amp in the back - stock will be putting in android 10in headunit to a 5-band EQ with built-in bass restoration (epicenter if you will), 3 RCA signals to the rear (front rear and sub) and looking into amps. will keep OEM speakers for the moment, may upgrde later THINGS TO CONSIDER the amps are Rock Series 4 channel and 5 channel (I believe this brand to be local to Mexico only) Links to specs at the bottom for anyone interested the 4 channel actually has built-in X-over for low, full or high, so I can run the woofers on low with this one the 5 channel only has x-over for full or high, 5th channel is low signal only the Sub amp is mono, but this is for 2 Massive Audio 10s 1.- First question is, is it worth it to keep all 10 speakers? (I would really like to keep all 10) My reasoning here is, if I keep all 10 speakers I have a few options (2 or 3 amp setup; 1 amp is for the subs) next are what I have come up with as options: 1.a - 1 5 channel amp, ch 1 & 2 tweeters, 3 & 4 mids, ch5 mono for door woofers. 4 channel, 1 & 2 rear tweets 3 & 4 rear woofers. 1 mono for subs 1.b - 1 5 channel amp, ch 1 & 2 all 4 tweets paired left and right, ch 3 & 4 front mids, ch5 all 4 woofers, 1 mono for subs (no issue on loosing fade). 1.c - 1 5 channel amp, ch 1 & 2 tweets and mids with passive 2-way crossover (issue here with the fron crossover as they are usually tw and woofer, not tw and mid), ch 3 & 4 rear tweets and woofers with 2-way passive crossover, ch 5 fr woofers, 1 mono for subs 1.d - 1 4 channel amp, ch 1 & 2 tweets, mids and woofers with passive 3 way crossover, ch 3 & 4 rear tweets and woofers with 2 way passive crossover, 1 mono for sub 2.- 8 channel, remove front mids 2.a - 1 4 channel amp, ch 1 & 2 tweets and woofers with passive 2 way crossover, ch 3 & 4 rear tweets and woofers with 2 way passive crossover, 1 mono for sub 3.- Mixed system 3.a- leave OEM amp to power tweeters, 5 channel, 1 & 2 mids, 3 & 4 rear woofers, ch5 front woofers, 1 mono for sub 3.b- leave OEM amp to power mids, 4 channel, 1 & 2 tweets and woofer with 2 way crossover, 3 & 4 rear tweets and woofers with crossover, 1 mono for sub 3.c- leave OEM amp to power tweeters and mids, 4 channel, 1 channel per woofer I like the idea of keeping all 10, mostly for the sound quality, and I would need to adequeatly prepare the crossover points and add filters on the tweets and mids for protection I also really love the idea of powering at least the front woofers with more bass from the 4 or 5 channel amp, I'd be doubtfull to pair them up with the rears since they are farther away, but may indulge the idea. For anyone who is unfamiliar with this BMW, all 4 woofers have their own plastic box and they are sealed, I don't know about how much cubic space in there but really doubtfull its over 0.5c.i.
