You mean to sand the actual leg on the little transistor itself? Then put flux on the leg? Or flux on the board? As far as heat, what's the temp I should be at? I tried range 365C - 425C and none would stick. Thanks.

OK guys, I got a question on the cap. The cap markings says 330uF 16W 16V. I have never seen a cap that has a wattage rating on it? Could some one tell me if I just use a 330uF 16V cap on it, would it work? Thanks.

So how do I know what caused the blow? I do suspected the cap as when I work with car transmission computers, it's usually the cap that cause the resistors to blow.
