A premature look would suggest that this sub would work in small enclosures but in order for a deep bass response, higher power would be needed, hence the 1000wrms. So if I'm to stick with the 500wrms, I'll have to find the optimum enclosure size that would give me the sound I'm looking for...

ok. this amps is only 1-ohm stable stereo? So I guess 4-ohms is the way to go. two subs per channel wired to 1-ohm.
