    Alpine 610c tweeters are dead

An update. I took it back to the installer. Turns out the drivers side tweeter had crapped out and both sides had fallen through. The bracket that was originally installed failed to hold them in place. They fabbed up two new brackets, replaced the toasted tweeter, and trimmed the gain on the...

Are these micro amps worth it?

I'm using the Alpine. It tucks nicely inside the console where the factory amp once resided. Works like a champ. I'm running a 400 watt mono amp in the trunk driving a Infinity Reference 12" DVC sub. Together the work well.

    Alpine 610c tweeters are dead

So a few months ago we had new systems installed in both cars. In my wife's we had Alpine 610c's in the front. They are powered by an Alpine brick amp. Everything was great until we noticed last night that the front sounded weak. I faded everything to the front and both of the tweeters are...

good small subs for home use

Look up Sunfire if you want a home sub that's compact but will rattle the windows. They aren't cheap though.

Might need to replace Focal PS165 components, suggestions?

I'd use RC car tire glue. It's flexible CA. Any hobby store should have it. I'd also lightly abrade the cone with steel wool or scotch brite to make sure you get a good bond. If that glue will hold tires on my 70mph RC car it should be great on a surround repair. Edit: I see you got it fixed!

    Best Gas Soldering Iron?

I like my Bernzomatic. It was 6 bucks at home depot. You need to buy a striker since it doesn't have self ignition.

12" SQ Sub on a cheap budget

Onlinecarstereo has the reference for a very good price. I got the 1262W and it's very pleasing.

    Honda Wheel Bearing ?

My neighbor has one of those. He ran it on a dyno. 450 Bhp. Scared the fudge outta me in it. 60mph and the front tires will break loose. A very fast gokart.

    Rubicon 1.400 Issue

Kenwood head unit with a Alpine 4 channel 200 watt amp hidden in console forward of shifter. Sub amp 4 Gauge power wire from battery (left front) through firewall. Wire is routed above pedal bracketry and at least a foot behind the head unit, probably 6" from the Alpine 4 channel. It then...

    Rubicon 1.400 Issue

So I love how this amp performs but I have one small issue. To get the bass output where I want it, I need to turn up the gain until there is a barely audible low hum that I only hear between songs. The odd thing is that if I have no audio signal and I hear the hum, turning on the headlights...

    Soundstream Rub1.400

The amp was dead silent.... Until I reached a certain level of gain. I found to get the output I wanted i had to dial in the gain until there was a barely noticeable low hum. The hum is not audible unless there is no music. Oddly enough, when I flip on the headlights the hum goes away...

Polk Audio db1240 or Infinity Reference 1260W or...

I really love my Infinity 1262W. I chose it over Polk because it's rated down to 23Hz. Online Car Stereo has great prices on the Infinity. I'm a big Polk fan. My Home system is all Polk. Plenty of people are happy with both Polk and infinity so hard to go wrong with either on a budget...

can a 4 gauge wire damage an amp

I'm using Cadence 4 gauge CCA to power a 400 watt RMS sub amp and it's working great.

is it worth putting components in the rear

I have comps in the front and coaxials in the back. I was kinda worried about the effects of my new sub on the rears but it turned out pretty good. The stock speakers were components in the front and very muddy full range (No tweets) in the rear and so rear passengers had crappy sound. The...
