Not too high. However, you really want to stay at 75% of capacity or lower, so I'd put a 70-75amp fuse in. Place a 75amp per 8gauge run as close as possible to dist block. If you're powering the dist block with 4 guage (or larger), put the proper rated fuse on the 4guage as close to battery as...

How well are the thiele small ratings matched to your box? If you free air your sub it won't punch as hard as in a cardboard box. And a cardboard won't punch as hard as a proper custom box. Your friend probably built his own, and you prob got one off ebay.

I'm hoping the external fuse is rated for the smallest wire you plan to run out of the bunch (thus negating the effect of so much wire.) If you have a 200 amp fuse 'externally' and your little 8awg wire shorts out, your car will be on fire.
