sounds like a bad ground. run a new ground to some metal in or under the dash and see what happens.

oh man, i've been thinking about picking up a JL sub too. let me think real hard about this. what is the power handling on this?

do you have this on the ohc or ohv 4.0? also, did it bolt in and connect right up or did you have to modify anything?

i'm about a 15 in my explorer. 1 he2 10" on 500-600 watts in a box tuned around 31 hz

When I worked at CarTronics and MotorTrends, we had customers using Irragi alts. Not many of them lasted. Ohio Generator was the big one that we used, and rarely had issues with them. edit: but i have seen people have good luck with his alts also, so you know.

shot in the dark here....I'm gonna say you have your amp turn on wire connected to the power antenna lead of the deck. swap the amp remote to the blue wire with the white stripe and it should cure your problems.

i have those in my explorer and love them. makes me sad that happened.

tighten up the little bumpstops in the trunklid area to help reduce some rattle in the trunk area. unless the plastic piece is rattling.

I've always preferred Reds for starting and everyday duties. I've never had good luck with a deep cycle battery receiving a continuous charge and not having some sort of capacity damage.
