I was hoping to use them for surround speakers. The problem with replacing hte woofer is I would then need to replace the crossover and tweeter as well, so I may as well just buy a new pair. Would the 10htz tone method work with a regular speaker or does this only work with subs?

It sounds like the Battery tender plus will not work well for the kinetik? The Battery Tender Plus has a float voltage of 13.2v and the kintetik suggests 13.5v-13.8v (Or is that close enough? better than letting it sit?)
