1 FI Q vrs 2 15" Mach 5's @ 800Wrms

Right now my current system is this:

Pioneer DEH 7800 (color screen)

Orion HCCA 250 Digital Reference

2 10" Orion P series subwoofers

box: 2.4cubics at around 33hz.

I am trying to see if I can get louder with the same power , but different subwoofer.

Everyone talks about the FI's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But I hear many great things about Mach 5's.

For the price of one 18" Fi Q I could get 2 15" Mach 5's.

So any opinions would be appreciated.

I am building up my electrical system.. I have a goal set financially and within 6 months from now will be looking into 5k watts. So for now, I am adding to my under 1k collection. This is kind of my personal project to see what gets louder @ same power .. etc..

My amplifier says to put out 800Wrms @ 12volts.

ummm one fi q " is about 310$ 2 maw15's are only 150 for BOTH

so its your choice the q would sound a hella lot better but its alot more expensive

and 800 watts isnt enouh power got the Q

Where did you find two MAW 15"s for 150$ for both ????

if each maw 15" subwoofer handles 500Wrms , which is the exact RMS my current pair of Orion P series handles then theres not much difference. Not to mention My Orion Amplifier puts out 800Wrms @ 12volts. My electrical system in my Van runs a nice solid 14.2volts so do the math and were very close to 1000Wrms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

In the right enclosure I could drop their power handling a bit to match the amplifier perfectly...

So... that said... All I am wanting to know is there a better pair of 15"s for the price ? Or a single 18" that would hit as hard or harder and would the two 15's or a single 18" at the same supplied power that I am feeding two 10's get louder than the two 10's ????

I will post a video of my 2 maw12's in a sealed box in a few days. Its my first setup everrrr. took me a while to get it all working and im happy overall.

They wang pretty **** hard, and they only cost me $140 shipped.

Once again.. please tell me where you can get two 15" Mach 5's for that price ??

they are $79.33each.

x2 = 158.6 in CAD + 30 shipping

= 183.6 in CAD. In USD its probably like ~$160 ?

I am seriously considering two MAW 18"s if I can get the 1 ohm load I am looking for.

Otherwise I will have to get the two 15's.

You wont get 1 ohm from a pair of MJ-18's, you can get 4 ohms or 2 ohms mono. They will get plenty loud once broken in and put in the proper size box.
