12's or 15's

i was talking to someone the other day about taking my 15's to comps after i get them in, but the design that i had would of put me in a modified class, so i decided to scale the box down a bit now that i got the box below the windows and seats, i went from 7.7ft^3 w/93in^2port @35Hz to 5.46ft^3 w/70in^2port @ 35Hz. i guess what i'm asking is would this new box be better suited for the 12's? i don't want to put the 15's in too small of a box! oh and they are both RL-p's powered with my soundstream @1400w (750 a piece)

Test them out, just build detachable front baffles. Try the 15s and the 12s.

Simply swapping 15's for 12's (via a removable baffle) would likely not work too well anyway. 12's and 15's generally have MUCH different volume requirements.

thats exactly what i'm getting at...in the first post, that is the biggest that i can build the box, it is on the small side of recommended for 2 15's, but is a little bigger than recommended for 2 12's. so would i be better off will a small box or bigger box, than recommended?
