The Good:

These are office laptops that were recently replaced. Both of these laptops are in good condition. They were used in air conditioned rooms. The keyboard / LCD's are without any kind of defect and appear as brand new. There are no cracks, chips, or meaningful cosmetic deficiencies anywhere on the chassis of the laptops. They have always functioned perfectly and have never needed any repair. The quad CPU and discrete GPU give them still very relevant performance. The addition of an SSD would make them very good portable desktop machines.

Dell recently serviced them with fresh thermal paste and a dust clean-up.

They have fresh, genuine installs of Windows 10.

The ehh.

I've always found the speakers on these things to just be eh, despite the "Klipsch" branding.

The batteries have definitely weakened. They will give you about 15 minutes of run time.

The "soft touch" rubber coating used on the palm rests of these laptops is notorious for developing a sticky, tacky feeling. Every piece of lint will stick to it. I used a little rubbing alcohol on one of the laptops to clean the palm rests yesterday, thinking it might remove the stickiness, but all I did was scuff it. The pictures illustrate my handiwork. I used a damp cloth for the other, just to remove the lint. It's not as bad as it looks. It's a lot of smudging that I can't do anything about.

If you are to use these as a laptop, I'd recommend laying a decal sticker over the palm rests.

In the manner these were used, (hooked up to external monitor / keyboard / speakers and always on AC power) none of the above issues mattered.

$450 each.
