Hey guys, anyone have real time experience playing with the American bass xr12 on amps of different size. Scooped a new xr12 d2 for 90$ new and working a budget equipment buy to finish it out.

Rms ask is 1200, max claimed at 2400 on the driver.

Would a 1200 watt rms amp be enough? Vehicle is a 2000 Acura TL with 250 amp Alternator so my electrical is sound. I’m always advocating headroom but my budget is south of $200....trending toward $150-170. Any ideas?

Was looking at an nvx jad1200.1 that dynos around 1400.

I don’t plan on having a rear battery though. Just big3, ho alt, and group 34 agm in front. I think I read somewhere that the taramps do better on short wire runs from a rear battery. Is this myth?

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
