Unless you want to get into some hefty electrical modding, a H/O alt will do nothing. I have an 08 LX and came across this info after considering getting a new alt.

Da fuqq you talking bout Willis. Op have you checked any other companies? In my research mechman did seem to be the highest. Call DC power engineering, excessive amperage, or nations electrical.

I just checked out what amp you have my friend and that probably is your problem. Although it probably isn't even putting out 1k that amp is very inefficient. I would invest in a better amp and just stay below 1500 total watts. You can still get plenty loud with that power and most likely louder than any of your friends in your age group. The application is where it is at and with a good one you will slam.

any recommendations on the new amp? i got the apsm for 110 shipped so a great deal. i was gonna get a mb quart 1500 but i figured that was too much for my electrical..

i hit a 128.7 which isn't much with the current set up. I'm going to make a double baffled box that is 3.5 cubes and tuned closer to 27 hertz. because with my car it jumps 5 hertz (forget the terminology but i think it starts with a d lol) so it would be a solid 32 hertz with the jump. and the obsidian hits hard. and sounds great on the lows. with the single baffle its "pinging" like no other.

I believe there is a coupon code for the aq though. Also for that obsidian 15 you will need a 3.5-4 cubic foot box the smallest I would go is 3 cubic feet.

P.S. that obsidian should easily be able to do higher 130's and up.

Sounds like a bad ground. You electrical will seem weak. Id make sure everything is clean and shiny for a proper connection. how long is this ground from batt neg to alt case?

imma re do the ground and run a engine ground to the chassis. and 97maxima : its approximately 3 ft... maybe a little less.

If thats the only batt ground you have id say its a little too long.

i also have one thats just over a foot that goes to the chassis from the batt - thats the one id sand down more. it goes to where the factory batt- chassis goes. i left all the original wiring too.
