I’m considering buying the DEH-P850MP.

i was wondering how good it is, comparing the newer models.

Is it any better then the 760 or same as 860?

Another question: i saw her few people said that the older 940 is better then the new 860/960. i checked the features and didn’t see any advantage to the 940......?

Thanks Danny

Its a touch better than the 760 but not as good as the 860. I of course use an 860 so I'm a little biased but the double face units have reliability issues and I decided to stay clear of them.

I would say its just a simple case of "build quality" and "reliability". The 940 is a very SOLID and dependable unit. I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and there is huge difference in MSRP between the 940 and the other units you've listed. So somewhere along the line Pioneer is doing something cheaper than they were with the 940.

860 is better than 850. the 850 is pretty much the 750 with dual fold down face. the 860 has a 13 band eq compared to the 850's 3 band. lot of little features you get with the 860 than the 850. and also like mentioned above, there have been problems with that dual face and that's why i personally chose the 8600 over the 9600. if you are looking for a good pioneer deck i have a premier 750 for sale.

i see,

i just came across 2 deals. one for 850 for less then $200. and for a new 940 for $300 before shipping.

So for $300 would you guys prefer the 940 on the 860(e bay).

Thanks Danny
