So I decided to build my own box for the first time. The build took about 3 days or so, not the best, but, for my first box I'm happy with it. The enclosure is 4^ft3 net @38hz after .15 sub displacement , dimensions are 32x20.5x17, port is 4.5" in width, total port length of 24.75 and sq. port area of 69.75. Used only tb3 and like 40 1 5/8" coarse drywall screws, I know its a lot of screws but I can always remove them and fill in the holes i guess(no clamps:crap:). Ended up not fitting in the trunk, building new one as we speak, but, I was able to get it in the back seat of my 94 century //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif, sounds amazing, especially with the sub inches from your ear, pushed some clean, loud lows. Just thought I'd share.

Looking good..
Thanks. Since this one didn't fit I picked up more mdf and started a new one, its almost done just have to glue the top panel on, only fit in the trunk with it off, gotta glue it on inside the trunk, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif going nuts trying to accomplish fitting this big of a box in my tiny trunk.

Re-designed enclosure all glued up and ready to go, already in the trunk, just need to add top panel. This one is 39x17x17.

Very nice job for 1st time builder.

I'm so close to buying a pair of these but my ride keeps breaking down and I have to fix it to get to work. Just replaced my waterpump, spark plugs and wireset. I was about to buy the pair the other day but my freakin' brakes and suspension are shot now....so I'm set back even more! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Screw it, I'm just gonna replace the breaks and sell the nuisance ASAP.

But yea, I heard these subs hit the lows loud and well. Which is what I am lacking ATM, and is what I need out of my next setup. Hope these things are worth the wait! I'm sure they are!

Best of luck with the new box and install, OP!

Regards, Pman.

Thanks. Ya, with 4 cubes @ 38hz these subs get **** low and loud. Unfortunately I got ahead of myself and didn't realize exactly how small and a pita the trunk of a 94 century can be to fit 4 cubes in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif. The box didn't fit at all, so I put it in the backseat sub right behind my head //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Just hearing it for an hour or two is enough for me until I get the perfect box dimensions for my trunk. I was amazed at how the lowest note in hypnotized hit the loudest:crazy:. Going to get to work on a new box tomorrow.

nice bro...
Thanks. I'm working on a temporary box that will fit that is 4@38 but in order to make it fit I have to use a 1/4" mdf board for the top panel only //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif I was so salty when this second one I finished fit but, the **** trunk wouldn't close by only an inch or so. I'm going to work on the design on the re calc and order yet another sheet on monday:).

In order to answer your question, I would need to know what model (e.g. SW4200, SW7524DVC). Also, are you looking to make a ported box or sealed?
