Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone could give away a few minuets of their time to answer a few of my question,

I would like to install a new pair of Subs, Amps and a new Receiver into my car, but id like a few things cleared up first.

WATT and Power: I know it might be a stupid question, but how many WATTS do I want my Subs and Amps to have?

I am planning on installing them myself, ive seen I am going to need a amplifier installation kit for the amp, but what am I going to need for the subs?

And is there anything special I need to look for in a receiver? Do I need to make sure it can support the amp and subs?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong with anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thank you very much for the help,

-Jason.

hey jason...first thing u need to do is set out a budget and goals that u want for the system.....the amount of watts all depends on what u want to run....ur looking for either SQ, SQL or SPL...

also when u go buy watts make sure you only look for rms and try and match them up unless u really kno what ur doing...

Thanks for the quick reply's! Alright so, I have a budget of about 300 Dollars. But what exactly is SQ, SQL or SPL?

Also how many rms would be a good amount to have?

I have a 88 Ford Mustang and Listen to only Dubstep and Drum and bass! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You will need distribution blocks for the amps I would run 0 gauge to the blocks and 4 gauge to the amps. For the head unit I would us one that...

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
