help with memphis amps

ok, I went into my local store today looking for a new amp to replace my beloved jbl 1200.1. my subs are dual 4 ohm, 500 rms and 1000 max. so I asked the guy about some amps and he said that the memphis 1000d can push 1600 watts. now I have been looking on the net and the most I have seen is 1100 which is what their site said. my question is, what will the amp REALLY push at 1 ohm rms and peak. also, what will the 1500d push? where is a good place to buy these amps on the net other than ebay? i can find the 1000d on ebay but not the 1500d. as usual, all help is appreciated.

well to answer your q i would recomend the 1000d over the bd due to the fact the bd isnt 1 ohm stable as to your power q i would say it isnt that important. the power would only give you less than 1 db in output..at that high of level of spl i doubt to much that really great ears could pick it up as at normal levels "perfect" hearing can only detect 1 db differences
