My XXV Hifonics Colossus amps has just "blown" and I am attempting to fix it. I have already repaired a colossus amp with the same issue but the repair didn't last because i broke, cut, and destroyed the clips that hold the MOSFET's to the heat sink. I tried to rig something up to secure them to the heat sink but obviously that didn't work.
Does anyone know how to safely remove and reattach these clips? I'm sure the Hifonics guys have some special tool that pops them on and off with ease but unfortunately I don't have that.
It would be an easy fix as only one MOSFET is damage as far as I can tell and it's the second one in the row so I can just swap it out real quicklike.. hopefully
P.S.
I didn't blow my amp.. some a-holes at a repair shop blew it.. but I can't prove it so they ain't payin.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif
