how realistic is a hair trick / decently high DB?

2000 jeep grand Cherokee

4.5cuf box with (2) 4" diameter aero ports

(2) 12" DAD BD 12's ... Tuned to maybe 40hz?

(1) Audiopipe mini 2000

All sky high 1/0 wire

I want to do a hair trick but I'm not expecting a crazy one plus I want to get at least a 148-150DB for slamology.

I talked to James the owner of DAD and he said he likes tuning it 35hz-45hz for his set ups.

So I was thinking 40hz but could I do both with that tuning or what?

I saw a video of Lester from showtime do a 148 with one BD 12 on 1000watts in a 2.3cu box with a huge homemade aero port.. So I thought the DB was more reasonable but the hair trick iffy.. You know a good tune for this though?

Hair trick wont happen on that low of power man. You may get a tiny bit of air movement but not what you're looking for. 40hz is also a pretty high tuning but if that's what you like then go for it

to even do a good hairtrick you're going to have to be in the 150+ range and you want a ton of cone area and power.. there are videos explaining the science behind it and what it takes to do so.

A 148-150 should be doable with proper tuning and box.

Not entirely true. I was doing hair tricks with 4 12s on 3000 watts

But in this case I don't see hair tricks happening. But high 140s is for sure possible

U will prolly do a 144-147db and maybe feel a slight breeze, but no full blown hair tricks

For hair tricks:

Lots of cone area.

Lots of port area.

Lots of power.

Low box tuning frequency.

Right now, you have none of that. Start by improving everything on that list, then you may do a hair trick.

I've seen a few systems that did a minor hairtrick with 2 12's. But they also had quite a bit of power on them and they were high end subs. But if i'm being real, the box and power have way more to do with a hair trick than any other factors. I've seen a few systems with 2 12's that did right at 150 on the dash/kick. I would aim for 150 but high 40's is probably more likely.

50hz Burp box and you should get close to 148. Hairtrick... NOPE.

Since its been revived... I can pull a small hair trick on 2 12's with ~1200 watts. Then again I have such a small cab space I get really good results by loading it off of one side of the cab. Keep the port side door closed and the other door opened gets nice, nice air movement through the door way.
