Let me just say this. If you have a vault of cash to spend, save it and buy the cheapest alpine cd player you can get your hands on. Basically I've personally heard these in my car while testing them out to see if they work.

Those stereo's are as old as 2000 , the cheapest one goes on
ebay for like $60. The way I view car stereo's is Alpine all the way. I don't have too much to spend but I'm not going to buy a car stereo based on my budget, I'll save for the sucker.
After testing low end units that go for $100 new on
ebay to high end units that retail for well over $500 CDA 7897, I've come to the conclusion that the only reason a person would purchase a higher end unit Alpine Deck is for the features and looks.
Every single alpine will sound great, Alpine is the manufacturer if Honda Car Stereos. The higher end the headunit, the more features there are such as a motorized face, mp3 capability, whether the faceplate is silver with blue buttons or black with green buttons, different LED displays. I still personally think the CDA 7864/7863 competition model still has the best display.
Bottom Line, ALL alpines sound great.
For Pioneers, you have to get the premier series I'm told. Sony, crapper I'm told. Kenwood, man I had to turn the sound up to 23 for some decent sound on a KDC 422. Nice display but **** got rid of it quick style. Threw in an Alpine, turned it to vlume 7 and it sounded like the kenwood on 23. **** man. Trip out. Aite you're bored and I'm done, thanks
