in need of serious help with audio terms

ok people, i need to know what the differences between the following are

frequency

octave

pitch

key

wtf are the diffs? i play the piano, and know what an octave is and what a key is (sharp/flat). but how does an octave relate to frequency? the higher the octave, the higher the frequency, and the lower the octave (a1 on the piano is the lowest) the lower the frequency. but when you change the pitch of a note, it either gets higher or lower...could someone enlighten me? i'm lost.

yes there is. after 400 posts your not supposed to be a n00b anymore. he has over 3k. He should know about the sticky.
