Kenwood vs Pioneer...

Ok I have most of my system planned out right now. What I am left with is what HU to get so I have pretty well narrowed it down to a KENWOOD KDC-X979 or a Pioneer Premier DEH-P960MP. OR Kenwood KDC-MP925 vs Pioneer DEH-P8400MP. Both pairs are quite close in prise... I love the looks of the KDC X979 but I also love the look of the P960MP and P8400MP. So i am at a cross roads. Anyone else?? I am leaning toward the P960MP even thought it is expensive. I am biased towads pioneer already..but that 960MP is freaking awsome..Color images and the electric faceplate that looks all stealth and then comes down to reveal the real deal..I was so close to blowing my budget on one of those..I just watched a BRAND NEW ONE go on EBAY for $325

How about the P8MP? What are ppls thought on that. I like the fact that it is cheaper plus it looks cool too.....

I have the Pioneer DEH-P80MP. The deck looks sick, sounds amazing running it @ 60 watts on Alpine Type S 6.5s

I have some pioneer equipment like cd changers amps, and even some old truck riders, the stuff is over 10 years old and still works like new, to this date I havent seen anything by Kenwood last more then 3 years

I never thought Kenwood was that bad???but wow that sounds shitty. I remember in the 1980's Kenwood had the coolest Head sets. Those things were cool and you where the **** if you had one.

But like I said I am a Pioneer

Hahahahaha, thanks all for your input, looks like it is down to the 960, 8400, and the P8MP. I know the 960 is probably the best but I'm not sure if I want to fork over $400 to get one, that is what they seem to be on ebay... I love the fold out style of the 960 and the 8400 so right now I am leaning toward the 8400 but they are a little harder to find. But then again the P8MP is cheaper than all of them so really I am torn between P8MP and the 8400. Any one have input on them 2????????

i would personally go for the pioneer 8600. same exact features as the 9600 just different display, but the 8600 is cheaper. i have had kenwood decks and changers and none of them lasted. my changer nroke twice in less than a year. i also had a kdc 419 or something like that it quit working with my disc inside it so i busted it apart got my cd out and threw it away. never had a problem with pioneer.
