mechman alt, shorter belt, will it hurt?

Hey y'all, I used this 270 amp alt in my old truck (2000 chevy Silverado) and now putting it in my 2004 gmc sierra. The guy from mechman told me to run a 1/2 inch shorter belt. I have the stock 105 amp alternator, so it is a 92.3 inch belt. the best I can find is a 91.5 inch goodyear gatorback belt, which has fantastic reviews. I could amazon a 91.9 inch belt, but that wouldn't quite be short enough to overcome the slippage (I think). what would happen if it is too short? would I see an immediate difference?

if it's too short, it won't fit.....get the gatorback, awesome belts....

I'm kinda thinking the 91.5 inch one is going to be too short. Think I should go with the 91.9inch belt? It won't be quite a half inch but I don't want to take a chance at the belt slipping. Will slipping be noticeable?

you should have enough play to be able to use the 91.5

OK awesome. So if it fits then its all good, no worries about the tensioning pulley not having enough play or getting worn out?
