need help selecting a sub

I'm in the process of selling my old 12's so I have been looking around for a new sub.

I am leaning a little more to the SQ aspect and I want something that will sound good in a sealed box. I would like to have a single 10 or 12 and I am trying to keep my amp from my old system, its a power acoustik ov2 1600 with 740w at 2ohm bridged.

so far I have been checking out RE SE(found 12s $169 shipped) line and the JVC arsenal 8000 line(just over $200).

So if anyone has any suggestions on what to get and a good place to get it I would appreciate it.

Someone on the forums is selling a nice pair of 12" JL W6's. I'd recommend them if you want SQ that can still get loud.

I'm starting to lean to the RE SE12, I have seen a lot of people here who speak higly of them and it seems like it would go fairly well with my amp.

can anyone give me a comparison to what the RE SE12 sounds similar to? seeing that I don't think there is anyone near me that sells them.

If I get them I plan to get them from (mobilesoundworks.com for $169 shipped) has anyone ordered from there or where is a good place to get them from?

I have never viewed the RE subs as being a "sound q" subwoofer? I would go along with some of the other recommendations you have received and suggest JL Audio, or Image Dynamics. Another line of subs that I would highly recommend is ARC Audio. All of the subs that I have heard from ARC have sounded great. The "ARC" line are build in the U.S. and I am currently running them in my sound quality system.

well I guess I'm not looking for just SQ but a good mix of both SQ and SPL.

and I prefer to buy my subs NEW.
