Novice needs guidance!

Hey guys,

I am an absolute novice to car audio systems. I thought I would challenge myself by replacing my factory system with an after market system. Now I have done my research and bought everything I need. However some areas are just confusing me still. I often over analyze, perhaps I am doing that here! I have tried to find my own answers but end up more confused.

I can work out where to connect most things.

1. When connecting the speaker wires to the speaker I can see they how they connect(a metal end slides over the speaker end. Easy! but what else do I need to do to that? Crimp it, solder it, heat shrink it?!

2. At the other end where the speaker wire joins the amp, do I just unscrew and attach the wire or are extra things needed?

I have an after market head unit, 5 channel amp(4 channel amp+1 channel for the sub) 2 front component speakers crossovers and tweeters, 2x rear full range speakers and one subwoofer ported. plus an amp wiring kit and 2 free pairs or rca cables

Please see the links to what I purchased and some more questions.

(on the third picture are they rca cables. They have given me three pairs of rca cables. I thought I only need 1 pair of Rca cables to connect the head unit to the amp?

Many thanks for any time taken to guide my naivety

plenty of full system install videos on youtube. I'd suggest you start there first and then come back here with more specific questions. We cant spoon feed the whole process to you bud. Hundreds of car audio install Youtube videos do that already.

if you gonna be a complete tool don't bother commenting, save your energy for being a wanker to people all day. I am not asking to be spoon fed. As I stated I have researched but I cant find the answers to clarify the above questions. Its not that I am lazy. These are the last questions I have before I start my install.

and you tell me whats the point of having a forum if ***** like you shoot down novices like me and cast assumptions on what I have or haven't done. I have 100 percent tried to find the answers myself and this is my last resort.

I suppose you did all your research yourself and never asked a forum any questions. And that would expelin why you a memeber on a car audio forum. You were probably born knowing everything and just post on here to be a ****. I bet you think your better than Chuck Norris.U ****

viola. All the things you ask are beyond elementary bud.

PS you sound just like one of those overly sensitive snowflakes that riot just because Hilary lost. So much for trying soo much to research that you are on your wits end.... When i was new i found all those answers within 5 mins of web browsing. That was the days of AOL dial up.

Here is a compendium of basics

All you need to do is just hook it up plain and simple no need to overanalyze.

Behaviour breeds behaviour.

If you are gonna act like a condescending tool, then I am gonna say something.

I am not dumb enough to support either Trump or Clinton you half wit. And as an American if I was you I wouldnt mention the state of your political situation. The world is laughing at what you voted in.

Perhaps you should go back to fiddling your redneck half sister

The answers are all on Youtube. You're asking about soldering crimping. I say go pay someone and watch what they do. NOBODY is going to be able to satisfy your questions without some hands on training.

You can use crimps. you can solder on terminals. You can crimp and solder. Some have push button terminals where you just strip the wire and push the wire in.

I appreciate the links. And zero comments to angryness happens when I come across condescending retards. When I dela with helpful respectful people They are treated with the respect they deserve. If they want to be asses then there treated like that. Behavoir breeds beahvoir

I will watch those videos as soon as I finish work. Now thats what I call helpful and most appreciated. Maybe I was searching for the wrong thing or asking the wrong question. Either way thanks for pointing me in the right direction:)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
That vid was the top of the youtube search if you looked up youtube like i told you, this all would have been over a long time ago but you decided to be an overly sensitive snowflake throwing temper tantrums because you didnt get spoonfed. Well there you go a big ol spoon for the whiny lil ***** baby that you are.

I'll do my best at answering each:

1. Connecting spade connectors to speaker terminals. Just make sure the spade connector on the wire pushes firmly onto the spade connector on the speaker. I suppse you could solder and heat shrink it but that would make disassebly realy tough.

2. Yeah the amp installation instructions should tell you how far to strip back the insulation and then you just loosen the screw, stick the conductor part of the wire into it and screrw trhe screw donw tight noon it to secure the conductor in and the insulation of the wire should come right up to the connector and look really pretty.

And head units and amps differ on how many RCAs they have/need. My Alpine PDX-V9 has inputs for six RCAs which some Caraudio.com evil denziens criticized me for using, but I figure of the amp has six RCA inoputs and my head unit has six outputs, trhe math is pretty simple!

Now go watch those Youtubes and wish they provided a lot more information! And never let the evil denziens of Caraudio.com grind you down! ;-)

John Kuthe...

You sir are a legend! Not only did you clear up some of my questions you didn't assume I was a lazy like the there fool did. I throughly appreciate your time and effort.

That guy this morning was such an *** I was already looking for the close account button. You have restores some of my faith

I was already looking for the close account button.
Please do and take Kuthe with you. It is amazing you received any help at all after your little tirade. You come in here and ask how to connect speaker wire but claim you have done all of your research and couldn't find how to do this? Time to get off the internet man.
