So this is a 83ah battery? Why is resting volts so low?

Yes you should. This battery is stronger than group 2700 batts and stronger than most group 3100 batteries out there. I used the NSBg2400 battery in 2008 dbdrag street A finals. It produced 5k out of my stetsom 10k. It is a strong mofo.

which would you recommend me keeping then? i have a nsb 2700 and a nsb 2400.. im thinking the 2700 is obviously stronger?

NOPE!! If you look at the specs of both batts (g2400 and g2700), the g2400 has better specs when it comes to spl competition and music. The g2700 has a higher amp hour capacity. But people dont understand amp hr dont mean chit when it is connected to an alternator. The alternator is producing greater power than amp hours. Now if you were playing music, not burping, on the batteries WITHOUT a recharging source (alternator), then the g2700 would win. But in spl and music, my testing the g2400(75) was 0.2 db stronger than they g2700 (70). Look at the specs that count CCA and internal resistance, the cca are about the same but the internal resistance is lower in the g2400 which allows the amp to readily pull current (power) from the battery.
