Overheating H/U

I been noticing my head unit getting really hot. I went to reach in the back of it to see how hot it was and i'm supprised it hasn't melted any wires. Is this **** normal?

it's normal especially if your hu doesn't get any air flow. the wires should be fine. the plastic surround can handle higher temps before it will melt.
