well any decent, well organized audio show or db event would contact the police and notify them of times and place they want to have the event, if it's too close to houses or businesses they will ask you to hold the event somewere else. if the police get a noise complaint call they no what it is for and can tell them that by such and such time they will be gone.

Yes. Because letting the cops know before hand always work.

Doesn't work that way unfortunately, at least not at 99% of the shows I attend each year. Getting to the point not even worth the 4-5hr round trip drives just to get shut down right away...
