yes, I use the USB and it works great, even used it with IPOD.

hmmm, to think of it I'm not using the internal amp. I tested the speaker outs before installing to make sure they worked, but haven't used them since FYI.

Can you run the IPod from the Ipod? Change songs mute change volume?

and no the ipod runs off the deck's interface (for obvious safety reasons). you can reach all playlists from the deck's interface

Actually, it can be run from the ipod if its later than a 6 generation video, i think either touch, and a newer nano, otherwise its straight off the HU
