I bought an after market android head unit which came with a short cable with an end that doesn't fit the radio.

Wondering if anyone can suggest a cable that would connect the two or a solution.

I have attached pics of the 2 ends.

Image 1 shows the ends that need connecting to each other.

Image 2 shows the original cable that was connected to radio unit.

Car is Peugeot 508 2011.

You are not supposed to connect one radio to the other. The Android unit's harness looks like it will fit good into the car's harness with the blue.

One is a radio and the other a display unit, if that makes sense put image below. (The replacement videos I have seen on YouTube connect those two).

In my desperation I did try as you suggested didn't work either, it wouldn't make sense either as you would be cutting off controls on the dashboard radio.

In my head the harness needs to have 3 ends: display unit, radio and to original cable that was connected to radio.

The more I scrutinize both radio's connections, the more similar they seem to me. I may be wrong, but are Android units not supposed to be stand alone? Most of the ones I have seen have their own on screen controls, so using the car's controls may not be an option.

The head units are meant to retrofit to existing car radio, so I can use all the buttons to control media as I would have normally done.

Link below shows how it should be.
