I have a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, it has stock speakers, but it came with a Pioneer FH-x720bt when I bought it. Whenever I turn it up to around 24 (it goes to 62), it switches sources and turns the volume all the way down automatically. It doesn't turn completely off though. And after it switches sources and turns down I can't turn it back up, it gets stuck on 1, no matter how fast, slow, soft, or hard I turn the volume knob. I know basic electronics, and I think it's either a bad grounding, or it's pulling too many amps from the fuze causing it to.overheat and kinda short out. Even if that is the case I wouldn't know how to go about fixing it. Should a get a new head unit, or try saving this one?
