These subs are designed to be a very efficient daily sub that excels at SPL as well. They feature a 3" 4 layer flatwound coil, 2000W conservative RMS rating, triple progressive spiders, and a large 55 pound motor structure.

I was hoping for dual 2's, but dual .5's would definitely work. I'd just have to do series/parallel instead of everything parallel.

Well might be better to go all new with dual 2 because the .5 coil option cost extra and for many as your getting might be better to buy all new with dual 2s. But there nice woofers for sure
