Hello I have a pair of kenwood kfcg6930 3 way speakers. I have them hooked up to an amp. The other day i put them up a little louder than usual and they do not sound as good anymore. They still are loud but the soind quality got worse they sound a little muffled. It happened all of a sudden and it is both speakers. All wires are still connected. What could this be? I am thinking if getting new speakers. What are sime could reccomendations for a replacement . I would like simething that sounds better but dint want to go over $100. Should I get 3 or 2 way? I also have a 10'' sub if that matters when buying the speakers. Thanks in advance.

Blown tweeters may give the impression of things being muffled. Which amp is powering them? I'd say stick with a 2 way component set. However, before you install any new speakers, you need to make sure your x-overs are set correctly. Can you tell us how they're set now? Are you using them on the amp or the HU?

Yes. Only thing is the leads will be encased in resin. Keep in mind that this is an assumption.

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

Speaker ratings are generally a thermal/mechanical limitation of the drivers. Music is dynamic, not continuous. During quiet periods a song, you...
